Willets-Burnham published Round the World on a Penny, a chronicle of the family’s travels and misadventures, illustrated by the paintings of Willets-Burnham and her children. The trips also furnished material for her “Talk.” Dressed in embroidered Syrian robes, wearing a pith helmet and pulling her original suitcase on wheels, Willets-Burnham was a humorous advocate of family travel on the lecture circuit from New York to Texas to California
