Anita Willets-Burnham
1935-1950

Often combining her lecture with formal exhibits of her painting, Willets-Burnham’s work was given a one-woman exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1940.

Continuing her painting odysseys, she traveled to the American Southwest and Mexico, as well as to Alaska, providing in large part for the family’s support by the sale of her work.

At home in her Log House she entertained local friends like Frank Lloyd Wright and Alice Addams as well as hundreds of acquaintances met through the Art Institute of Chicago or while traveling worldwide.
